Job Title: Hitachi Storage AdministratorLocation: Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, BangaloreExperience Required: 8 - 12 yearsJob Description:We are looking for an experienced Hitachi Storage Administrator to manage and maintain storage environments across multiple data centers. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in storage system installation, configuration, performance tuning, and backup management, along with expertise in Hitachi storage technologies like 3PAR, HPE Alletra, MSA, and DELL PowerStore.Key Responsibilities:Storage Administration:
• Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and manage storage systems across multiple data centers.
• Performance Management: Monitor and maintain storage system performance, ensuring it operates at optimal levels.
• Storage Array Design: Design and configure storage arrays based on industry best practices, including volume configuration, RAID setup, LUN zoning, and NAS performance tuning.
• SAN & NAS Management: Configure and manage SAN and NAS environments, including tape libraries and fabric switches.
• Disaster Recovery (DR): Oversee DR-related processes, including the configuration of storage systems in DR sites and ensuring business continuity.
• Storage Migration & Consolidation: Lead storage migration and consolidation efforts to optimize storage environments.
• Policy & SOP Documentation: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for storage administration, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
Backup Management:
• Backup & Restoration: Oversee backup and restoration of operating systems, applications, databases, and file systems in accordance with established policies.
• Backup Performance: Monitor and optimize the performance of backup schedules, ensuring data integrity and recovery readiness.
• Backup Tool Expertise: Extensive experience with Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, and HPE StoreOnce appliances, including tape library management (MSL Tape library).
• Monitoring & Reporting: Real-time monitoring of backup processes, maintaining logs, and reporting backup status to system departments.
• Disaster Recovery Testing: Coordinate with internal and external audit teams for backup restoration testing and disaster recovery exercises.
• Media Management: Manage tape media, including offsite storage, vaulting, and retrieval for disaster recovery purposes.
• Backup Policy Optimization: Collaborate with process owners to suggest improvements and optimizations for existing backup and restoration policies.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Storage Expertise: Hands-on experience with Hitachi storage solutions (3PAR, HPE Alletra, MSA, DELL PowerStore).
• Backup & Recovery: Strong background in backup and restoration technologies, including Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, HPE StoreOnce, and tape management.
• SAN/NAS Management: In-depth knowledge of SAN, NAS, and associated technologies like fabric switches and tape libraries.
• Disaster Recovery: Familiarity with DR processes, including storage configuration at DR sites and ensuring business continuity.
• Performance Tuning: Experience in storage array performance tuning and optimization.
• Documentation: Ability to prepare and maintain SOPs and RFPs for storage technology upgrades and migrations.
• Media Management: Experience in tape media management, including onsite and offsite storage, vaulting, and disaster recovery.
Desirable Skills:
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in storage management or backup technologies.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry best practices for storage and backup management.
Personal Attributes:
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills for documentation and reporting.
