Job Description

    As a member of the team developing and maintaining SPIRE, a critical system for Swiss Re, you will collaborate closely with Application Engineers, Data Engineers, QA Engineers, and Business Analysts across multiple locations in Europe and India. The Frontend is based on Angular and PrimeNG, while the Backend comprises Spring Boot Java services running in an AKS (Azure) K8S cluster with RabbitMQ as a messaging infrastructure. Additionally, Python and R REST services are utilized, along with Azure SQL database, ADF, Databricks for data processing, ELK stack for logging, Grafana dashboards for monitoring, and Azure AppInsights. Azure DevOps is used for deployment pipelines, ticket processing, and project lifecycle management with code stored in git within Azure DevOps.**Key Responsibilities:**- Analyze, design, develop, document, and maintain Spring Boot applications- Communicate technical content to a business audience and engage with clients effectively- Mentor junior developers professionally**Qualifications Required:**- Deep understanding of Java programming and Spring Boot- Experience working with relational databases- Ability to demonstrate responsibility and take ownership**Nice to have skills:**- Proficiency in micro-services architecture and containerization concepts (e.g., Docker)- Experience in developing and operating applications in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools like Azure DevOps or Jenkins- Frontend skills in Angular, Redux, Typescript, or R language- Knowledge of extreme programming techniques like pair programming, TDD, and Agile methodologies- At least 3 years of experience with Spring BootIn addition to technical skills, as a team player at Swiss Re, you are expected to navigate within the existing ecosystem and proactively drive tasks forward.
