Job Description

    Job Title: Operation Theatre (OT) Technician Location:Punjab Department: Surgical Services / Operating Room Reports To: OT IN charge / Surgeon / Head of DepartmentJob Summary:The OT Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining the operation theatre, ensuring proper sterilization of surgical instruments, and assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures. They play a critical role in ensuring patient safety and supporting smooth OT operations.Key Responsibilities:
    • Prepare the operating room before surgery (including sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and materials).
    • Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery.
    • Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and handling surgical tools.
    • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and in working condition.
    • Monitor and maintain OT inventory, including surgical supplies and instruments.
    • Handle and dispose of bio-medical waste as per protocols.
    • Maintain OT documentation, surgical records, and checklists.
    • Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
    • Assist with post-operative patient transfer and OT room cleanup.
    • Participate in regular OT maintenance and audits.
    Qualifications & Skills:
    • Diploma or Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology or relevant field.
    • 1to 3 years of experience in a hospital/clinical OT setup preferred
    • Knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterilization techniques.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
    Work Conditions:
    • May require flexible working hours, including night shifts, weekends, and emergency duty.
    • Exposure to bodily fluids and infectious materials (strict PPE adherence required).
