Job Description

    1. Operating the CMM Machine
    • Set up and calibrate CMM machines according to the manufacturers instructions.
    • Load parts or workpieces onto the CMM for inspection.
    • Use the CMM to take precise measurements of parts, ensuring they conform to the required specifications.
    • Operate various CMMs (manual, CNC, or optical) depending on the type of machine available.
    2. Reading and Interpreting Blueprints/Specifications
    • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, or CAD models to understand the required measurements and tolerances.
    • Analyze and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure accuracy in measurements.
    3. Data Collection and Analysis
    • Record measurement data accurately, including any deviations from the specified tolerances.
    • Generate detailed reports for quality control and documentation purposes.
    • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, errors, or non-conformities.
    • Maintain proper records of inspections, measurements, and any corrective actions taken.
    4. Quality Control and Inspection
    • Verify the accuracy of parts, components, and assemblies against design specifications.
    • Ensure parts meet the required standards for manufacturing, safety, and quality.
    • Identify any defects or discrepancies in the materials or components being measured.
    • Notify quality control personnel or engineers if measurements are out of tolerance.
