Job Description

    Role: Motor Underwriter.Designation: Manager/Sr. Manager.Location: Mumbai.Working Days: 5 Days.Qualification: Any graduate.Key Responsibilities:
    1. Driving underwriting strategy formulation and setting up of processes for the function with respect to Motor product.
    2. Preparation of product policy wordings, underwriting guidelines, rating structure && schedule && other relevant documents for filing of products with IRDA.
    3. Interacting with Marketing, Claims and Actuarial Team for review/follow up and finalizing underwriting guidelines for all products.
    4. Coordinating with technology teams for maintaining the system && new requirements.
    5. Product development as per customer requirements, market research and improve the effectiveness of existing products.
    6. Contributing in growth of business by regular interactions with brokers and Intermediaries.
    7. Analyzing the performance of general insurance products on regular intervals and taking proactive actions to control && normalize theportfolio in consultation with sales and claims team.
    8. Developing a monitoring system for underwriting control, enforcement of risk acceptance discipline.
    9. Preparing reports for Management Committee on regular intervals on the performance of product portfolio and fine tune operations as perthe business requirement.
    10. Analyzing incurred claims ratio, review of portfolio and taking proactive action for loss control measures.
    11. To classify the risks into acceptable and unacceptable categories and communicate the declined risks list in each line of business.
    12. To arrive at and acceptable portfolio mix, between Low, Medium and High Hazard Risks.
    13. Quality and timely response - Adherence to TAT for quote submission and quality.
    14. Providing technical leadership, direction, governance, challenge, support, guidance and advice to Sales and Underwriting colleagues to deliver market-leading products, secure profitable business and develop the underwriting function in line with the global Underwriting strategy.
