Job Description

    As an Applied AI Engineer at GEMGEM, you will be responsible for building and deploying AI/ML features that enhance user experience, automate internal processes, and drive platform growth. You will collaborate closely with product, backend, and frontend teams to implement AI-driven solutions. Here is a breakdown of the key responsibilities and qualifications required for this role:Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deploy production-ready AI/ML models for: - Jewelry image classification and tagging - Price recommendation and valuation - Similarity search and duplicate detection - Fraud risk scoring and anomaly detection- Define requirements and scope for AI-driven features in collaboration with the product team.- Clean, process, and manage datasets including images, product metadata, and pricing history.- Utilize third-party APIs such as OpenAI, AWS Rekognition, and Hugging Face to accelerate delivery.- Integrate AI models into the GEMGEM Laravel Nuxt 3 platform with backend/frontend teams.- Develop scalable AI code optimized for production environments and ensure reliable deployment at scale.- Continuously monitor and enhance model accuracy, performance, and cost-efficiency.- Maintain documentation, version control, and reproducibility of model experiments.Required Skills & Qualifications:- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field.- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in applied machine learning or computer vision.- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.- Strong understanding of model development, evaluation metrics, and deployment practices.- Experience deploying models in production systems.- Knowledge of API integration and basic data engineering concepts.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in e-commerce, C2C platforms, or image-heavy applications.- Familiarity with tools like LangChain, OpenAI APIs, Hugging Face Transformers.- Exposure to blockchain, smart contracts, or luxury product authentication.- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and Docker.In addition to the above, GEMGEM offers a remote work environment for highly self-motivated individuals, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work with a global team across various functions.
