Job Description

JOB DETAILS: Position : Database Administrator Reporting To: General Manager Location: Thane*** *MCSA Databse Administration Certification Associate level or Equivalent. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design database maintenance plans for Development team, Quality Assurance teams, and customers.
  • Design database deployment plans for Development team, Quality Assurance teams, and customers.
  • Monitor the usage of the implemented maintenance plans and the deployment plans and improve them over a period of time.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Team in conducting performance testing by automating performance indicators data collection, analyzing and producing recommendations as well as statistics to the stakeholders.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours (when necessary.
  • Keeps clients informed by preparing performance reports; communicating system status.
  • Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities; reporting violations by use of tools for monitoring and analyzing database performance.
  • Implements performance improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Provide implementation assistance for system integration issues during implementation.
  • Manage the Database backup and recovery.
Candidate Profile:
  • Must have a Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Scienceor an equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have SQL Server certification for MCSA Database Administration Associate level or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in managing and working with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, and web based applications.
  • Must have working experience with large systems such as ERPs like Epicor, Infor, SAP, Oracle, or billing systems where there are high volumes of data with database usage for both OLTP and OLAP.
  • Must have VMware or similar virtualization technology operational experience for 2 years. VMware certification is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Working knowledge of IT Security design and implementation skills
  • Excellent organizational, project, process and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in English and a local language
  • Ability to utilize industry support tools to support security building, auditing, reporting and support processes. (Office apps, SQL, Wireshark, WinDirStat, Event Log Analysers, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge and experience of hardening Microsoft Windows and SQL Server systems.
  • Very good training skills to train client technology counterparts
  • Good logical and programming skills to use during troubleshooting issues
  • Ability to lead and implement small to medium sized projects. This will include all aspects such as meetings, business analysis, project planning, training, and implementation.
  • Discretion, good judgment, organizational or management ability, initiative, and the ability to work independently
  • Should be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
