Job Description

    As a Factory Buyer at Hitachi Energy in Maneja-Vadodara, India, you will be an integral part of the Transformers Business Unit (BU) team. This team is dedicated to utilizing innovative technology to transform energy, creating social, environmental, and economic value while paving the way for a sustainable energy future. Hitachi Energys portfolio encompasses power transformers, traction transformers, insulation and components, digital sensors, and transformer services. These products have been instrumental in various sectors ranging from power generation to infrastructure projects and mobility. With the introduction of the TXpert Ecosystem, Hitachi Energy is committed to digitalization and sustainability.In this dynamic and fast-paced role, your primary mission will be overseeing the procurement process and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs. This includes preparing and issuing purchase orders, forecasting long lead items, monitoring orders for timely delivery, evaluating supplier performance, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Your responsibilities also entail handling import and domestic procurement, understanding trade compliance, material planning, logistics management, and visiting suppliers as necessary.To excel in this position, you should have a background in the manufacturing industry, particularly in Transformers manufacturing. Familiarity with procurement concepts, fabrication, trade compliance, and Indian tax regulations is essential. Proficiency in handling import/export transactions, SAP/S4HANA, and MS Office is required. Additionally, possessing strong analytical skills, cost optimization experience, and knowledge of tools like lean manufacturing, KANBAN, and VMI will be advantageous. Your educational background should include a diploma or bachelors degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, along with 4 to 6 years of professional work experience in procurement.Living by Hitachi Energys core values of safety and integrity, you will be expected to demonstrate responsibility for your actions while prioritizing the well-being of your colleagues and the business.
