Job Description

    As a Network Engineer - Level 2 specializing in Firewall Support at VIKING CLOUD, you will play a crucial role in completing customer implementations and providing ongoing support. With 3 to 5 years of experience, your expertise in firewall technology, IP networking, and VPNs will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our managed network solutions.Your responsibilities will include firewall implementation and support, such as installing and configuring Fortinet firewalls and addressing customer needs by making necessary changes to the firewalls. You will be expected to troubleshoot technical issues related to firewalls, filtering, routing, VPNs, and application connectivity, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.In addition, you will be part of an on-call rotation to respond to firewall and network issues, sometimes outside regular working hours, underscoring your commitment to ensuring uninterrupted service delivery. Monitoring the performance, capacity, and availability of firewalls will be part of your routine, with a focus on recommending and implementing improvements to enhance overall network efficiency.Your role will also involve managing firewalls and VPNs, following incident, problem, and change management processes in line with ITIL standards. By contributing to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives, you will help enhance customer satisfaction metrics through stable and transparent service delivery.To excel in this position, you should possess hands-on experience with Meraki and Fortinet firewalls, a solid understanding of network protocols and concepts, and the ability to analyze network traffic data using tools like Wireshark. Effective interpersonal and consulting skills will be crucial in aligning customer requirements with appropriate technical solutions, while your ability to collaborate within a dynamic team environment and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues will be paramount.Furthermore, your commitment to continuous learning, documentation, and knowledge sharing will be key to maintaining a high standard of service delivery. A professional demeanor, strong prioritization abilities, and a Bachelors Degree in a related field will be required to thrive in this fast-paced and challenging environment.,
