Job Description

    You will be working as a Dental Assistant 2 in the Resid Prgm-Dentistry department at the Health Science Campus Hospital under close supervision from a dentist or high-level dental assistant. Your primary responsibilities will include performing duties to support dental office and operatory functions, providing instructions to dental students and assistants on proper clinical procedures, and assisting with tasks related to indirect patient treatment.To qualify for this position, you should have a minimum of 12 months of experience in dental office practices and procedures, or have completed a dental assisting program in lieu of experience. Additionally, you must possess a current Radiology License and Basic Life Support certification.In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate clinical competency in caring for patients across various stages of the life cycle, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. You should also be proficient in responding to customer service needs, actively seeking ways to assist patients and co-workers, and participating in performance improvement activities related to your job duties.Please note that the University of Toledo campuses are tobacco-free, and candidates for employment at the Health Science Campus Medical Center must be nicotine-free.
