Accounting Specialist

Job Description

As an Accounting Specialist, your role involves migrating accounting data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) to QuickBooks Online (QBO). You should have robust experience in handling end-to-end accounting processes and effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and clients during the migration process. Your responsibilities will include:- Leading and executing data migration from QBD to QBO- Reviewing, cleaning, and validating accounting data to ensure accuracy- Mapping chart of accounts, customers, vendors, items, and historical transactions- Performing post-migration validations, reconciliations, and issue resolutions- Managing end-to-end accounting activities such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and reconciliations- Ensuring accurate opening balances and historical financial data in QBO- Preparing and reviewing financial statements post-migration- Collaborating with clients and internal teams to gather requirements and provide user support and training on QBO best practices- Identifying process improvements and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controlsQualifications required for this role include:- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online migrations- Solid knowledge of end-to-end accounting processes- Experience in AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and month-end close- Understanding of chart of accounts structure and financial reporting- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesPreferred qualifications:- Experience with multiple QuickBooks migrations- Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel- Experience in a client-facing or consulting roleYou should have 5-6 years of relevant accounting experience with demonstrated exposure to QuickBooks migration.
