Role Overview:As a Principal Solution Architect in the IT Software domain at American Airlines, you will be part of a diverse, high-performing team dedicated to technical excellence. You will focus on delivering unrivaled digital products that drive a more reliable and profitable airline. Your role will involve writing, testing, and documenting technical work products, conducting root cause analysis, designing self-contained systems, and leading implementations of significant capabilities. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineering leaders and business counterparts to contribute guidance, patterns, and reference implementations for adopted technologies.Key Responsibilities:- Write, test, and document technical work products according to organizational standards and practices- Raise the quality and craftsmanship of products and systems- Conduct root cause analysis and prescribe action items to mitigate domain level problems- Design self-contained systems within a teams domain and lead implementations of significant capabilities- Anticipate scaling needs for system components and size them appropriately- Identify opportunities for better system observability and advocate for prioritization- Partner with the security organization to improve team security practices- Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering leaders and business counterparts- Contribute guidance, patterns, and reference implementations for adopted technologies- Identify opportunities for introducing new approaches to problems in the environmentQualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training- 8 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments- Masters degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training (Preferred)- Airline Industry experience (Preferred)Additional Details:American Airlines is transforming the way it delivers technology to its customers and team members worldwide.
