Job Description

As a Data Scientist, your role will involve architecting a data-based solution for the business problem presented and developing contextual automotive domain knowledge around the problem. You will collaborate with domain knowledge experts if required. Your key responsibilities will include:- Understanding the IoT device (Telematics Control Unit) of the vehicle and developing an understanding of Time-Series Data originating from TCU.- Understanding the data landscape and establishing the data adequacy beforehand.- Cleaning up and preparing datasets for modeling, getting involved in the ETL process if required and applying data transformation techniques such as resampling, filtering, encoding, etc.- Conducting exploratory data analysis to gain insights, presenting descriptive stats and insights to domain experts, finding meaningful patterns in data, detecting seasonality and trends, and establishing cause and effect relationships in data. You will also develop and test hypotheses in collaboration with domain experts.- Designing features, shortlisting features, studying feature importance, deciding the ML strategy, data modelling, selecting an appropriate machine learning/deep learning model, setting up a data pipeline for model training, hyper-parameter tuning, validation, and testing. You may also apply ensemble model techniques if required.- Reporting & Visualization: Comprehending reports, visualizing data in the form of plots, and creating Heat Maps using Google Maps API. Additionally, you will mentor juniors in data science.Qualifications Required:- Must have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in developing data science models.- Experience using machine learning algorithms such as Generalized Linear Models, Boosting, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, SVM, Bayesian Methods, time series models, etc.- Hands-on experience in using machine learning models for regression and classification problems and unsupervised machine learning algorithms. Working knowledge of clustering techniques such as centroid-based clustering.- Working experience with Cloud Computing Platforms such as AWS/IBM.- Strong programming skills in Python are a must. Working experience with pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn.- At least 3 years of industry experience in one or more full-time Data Science/ML roles.- Data Visualization techniques.
