Job Description

As a Backend Engineering Intern at Songdew, you will have the opportunity to work on building scalable web applications and solving real-world engineering challenges. You will collaborate closely with experienced developers and product managers to enhance the core modules of Songdews technology platform. Successful interns may even have the chance to transition into a full-time Software Engineer position upon completion of the internship.**Role Overview:**You will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend services using Python and Django, designing and implementing RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications, and working with MySQL and MongoDB databases for application development and optimization. Additionally, you will be involved in implementing caching mechanisms, performance enhancements, system architecture design, debugging production issues, and writing clean, reusable, and well-documented code. Collaboration with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver features, participation in code reviews and engineering discussions are also key aspects of the role.**Key Responsibilities:**- Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django- Design and build RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications- Work with MySQL and MongoDB databases for application development and optimization- Implement caching mechanisms and performance enhancements- Participate in designing scalable and secure system architecture- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code- Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver features- Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions**Qualifications Required:****Must Have:**- Robust knowledge of Python- Good understanding of Django Framework- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)- Familiarity with REST APIs- Working knowledge of MySQL- Understanding of MongoDB- Familiarity with Git- Good problem-solving and analytical skills- At least one live project/website deployed (academic, freelance, personal, or internship project)**Good To Have:**- Exposure to Redis, Memcached, or caching frameworks- Knowledge of Docker- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines- Exposure to background jobs, queues, and distributed systems- Experience with Linux environmentsEligibility: - B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines- Final-year students, recent graduates, or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience- Available for a minimum 6-month internshipIf you are passionate about building products that impact the lives of musicians globally, this opportunity at Songdew is an exciting chance for you.
