Role Overview:As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, your responsibilities go beyond just writing code. You will not only provide technical leadership on major projects but also manage a team of Engineers. Your role will involve optimizing code, overseeing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and developing your team. You will work in various areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and more. Operating with scale and speed, you will guide the exceptional software engineers in your team.Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of AI Software Engineers, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development.- Drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable AI/ML systems and infrastructure for HR applications.- Ensure successful deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AI/ML models in production environments, promoting MLOps best practices.- Promote technical excellence within the team by upholding high code quality, thorough testing, and adherence to Googles engineering standards.- Identify and address technical issues and risks, making strategic decisions to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C, Java, JavaScript.- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.- Experience designing, developing, and deploying large-scale AI/ML systems in a cloud environment is preferred.- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.- Understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling techniques, and data analysis relevant to HR data.- Excellent technical leadership, communication, and people management skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical audiences.
