Job Description

    As a Network Security Technical Specialist at BT, your role is crucial in ensuring the security of our company, customers, and communities from cyberattacks. You will be part of a dedicated team that faces challenges every day, utilizing your skills and experience to contribute effectively. Heres what you can expect:**Role Overview:**You will be responsible for performing the customer-facing role for security operational teams, providing support on IT security-based services to a specified group of external global/corporate customers. Your key accountabilities include:- Triaging, reviewing, and implementing standard security specific changes in line with customer security policies- Owning complex customer issues and seeing them through to resolution- Advising customers on how automation can enhance the stability and security of their solutions- Collaborating and sharing knowledge with other engineers and administrators- Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and security requirements**Key Responsibilities:**- Perform customer-facing role for security operational teams- Triage, review, and implement standard security specific changes- Own complex customer issues and see them through to resolution- Advise customers on automation for enhanced stability and security- Collaborate and share knowledge with other Engineers and Administrators- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and security requirements- Deliver service levels at a competitive cost point- Ensure appropriate resourcing to meet demand and deliver great customer service- Establish and mature governance processes, embedding quality and consistency**Qualifications Required:**- Expert knowledge of NGFW, UTM, automation, networking concepts, and devices- Experience with multiple security vendors (e.g., Palo Alto, F5, Cisco, Cisco FTD, Checkpoint) and/or relevant certifications- Minimum 8 years of experience as an individual contributor- Good knowledge of routing protocols, security concepts, and public cloud platforms- Knowledgeable in current and emerging network software and hardware technology and protocolsAt BT, security is a rapidly growing part of our global organization, where we protect our networks from over 6,500 cyber attacks daily.
