SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Job Description

As the Senior Manager Communications at IHG Hotels & Resorts, you will play a crucial role in partnering with the India business to drive strategic external communications, reputation protection, and crisis management efforts aimed at achieving growth and business success. Your responsibilities will include:- Acting as a business partner for the MD, SWA, and wider India business to deliver effective communications that enhance IHGs reputation across all audiences and contribute to business growth.- Developing and nurturing strong relationships with key trade, business, and financial media in India.- Executing external communications for the IHG corporate brand through earned media coverage and events.- Supporting the development and implementation of comprehensive 360 Comms plans for key brand programs and projects.- Managing issues and crisis response in India to ensure effective communication during challenging situations.- Providing guidance, tools, best practices, and advice to the network of communications representatives in hotels.In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for brand PR in India, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and the regional and global brand PR network to:- Deliver relevant PR activations for all brands in India in alignment with business priorities.- Manage the India PR calendar, ensuring proactive and reactive news coverage.- Support the implementation of PR activities to achieve global brand and commercial objectives.- Serve as a subject matter expert on effective PR practices for brands across India.- Track and report on PR performance data and analytics to measure ROI effectively.Moreover, you will oversee owner communications channels in India, collaborate with internal teams, guide colleagues on owner communication requirements, and represent IHGs Corporate Responsibility initiatives in the local market. You will be expected to develop a responsible business narrative for India and contribute to the overall success of IHGs communication strategies.Qualifications required for this role include:- At least 7 years of experience in external/internal communications, with a focus on corporate and consumer outreach.- Experience in managing agencies and budgets, working within complex business environments, and navigating media landscapes in the MEA region.- Ability to engage stakeholders effectively, work across virtual teams, and communicate confidently.- Experience with international brands is advantageous.At IHG Hotels & Resorts, we are committed to fostering a culture of True Hospitality for Good on a global scale.
