Senior Fleet Operations Manager - Logistics

Job Description

As a Senior Fleet Operations Manager at our clients rapidly expanding logistics and supply chain company, your role is crucial in overseeing and optimizing the diverse fleet across India. You will be responsible for developing operational strategies, managing driver performance, ensuring vehicle compliance, and leveraging technology for enhanced fleet efficiency.Key Responsibilities:- Manage and optimize day-to-day operations of a large fleet including trucks, vans, and specialized transport- Develop strategic plans to improve fleet performance, reduce costs, and enhance delivery times- Oversee driver recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure compliance with regulations- Implement vehicle maintenance programs for safety, compliance, and minimal downtime- Utilize fleet management software and telematics data for monitoring vehicle performance, location, fuel efficiency, and driver behavior- Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards- Manage relationships with third-party vendors such as maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, and leasing companies- Develop and track operational budgets, identify cost-saving initiatives, and lead a team of fleet coordinators and supervisors- Respond to and manage operational emergencies and disruptions effectivelyQualifications:- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Masters degree is a plus)- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in fleet management or logistics operations with a focus on large-scale fleet operations- Proven experience in managing diverse fleets and understanding various vehicle types and maintenance requirements- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements- Strong analytical skills to interpret operational data and implement data-driven solutions- Proficiency in fleet management software, telematics systems, and route optimization tools- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, negotiate with vendors, work effectively in a remote team environment, and adapt to a dynamic work environmentThis role offers you the opportunity to lead in a growing company with a commitment to remote work culture.
