As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Optum, you will play a crucial role in building robust and high-quality designs to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Your ability to envision overall solutions for defined requirements and define technologies, patterns, and frameworks will be key in ensuring flawless cutting-edge experiences.**Primary Responsibilities:**- Envision the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements, defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks to materialize it- Design and develop the framework of the system, explaining choices made and reviewing design documents- Create, understand, and validate design and estimated effort for given module/task- Review architecture and design on various aspects like extensibility, scalability, security- Manage and be accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors- Adherence to defined SSMO delivery process/guidelines like Problem Management, Incident Management, Change Management- Participate in stakeholder discussions for understanding business needs- Encourage domain and technical knowledge to build subject matter expertise- Act as a gatekeeper for production, analyzing code and infrastructure changes for quality- Coordinate with development team for smooth and error-free releases- Prepare and present status reports to US and India team members- Build relationships with project stakeholders and business partners- Ensure compliance with organization and project standards and processes- Support existing applications on Production- Achieve harmonious working relationships within the team and with business partners- Ensure availability over weekends/holidays as needed due to project requirements**Required Qualifications:**- Bachelors degree from recognized University- 12 years of overall IT experience- Hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Security, Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.- Experience in Solutioning, Architecture/Designs, and developing scalable Platform architecture- Working experience in React JS/Redux, AWS/Azure, Jenkins CI/CD pipeline- Experience in agile methodologies, Web Services/API, build tools like Maven/Gradle- Technical solutions for new capabilities, CI/CD, End-to-end testing, Agile environment- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities- Quick learner and technology adopter**Preferred Qualifications:**- Experience in healthcare domain- Experience with high volume transaction sites- Experience in customer-facing products- Experience in Mobile DevelopmentAt UnitedHealth Group, the mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
