Analyst 3, Import/Export (HTS and ECCN)

Job Description

Western Digital is seeking a Trade Operations professional with advanced experience in HTS and ECCN classification. You should possess a strong knowledge of General Rules of Interpretation (GRI), Section Notes, Chapter Notes, and Customs rulings. Your role will be critical in ensuring accurate product classification, customs compliance, and smooth cross-border movement of goods. Your responsibilities will include:- Classifying Western Digital products, components & 3rd party supplier items by assigning Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs).- Maintaining and updating classification data in Oracle Global Trade Management (GTM).- Supporting trade operation initiatives and projects related to classification and global trade operations.- Identifying opportunities to enhance classification processes, automation, and operational efficiency.- Liaising with internal teams to facilitate timely shipment release and resolve clearance process issues.- Collaborating with logistics, procurement, and business partners for smooth movement of goods and resolving customs-related issues.- Undertaking any other tasks assigned by the management from time to time.Qualifications:- Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).- Experience: Demonstrated experience in HS & ECCN Classification, Customs operations, import/export documentation, or international trade.- Technical Skills: Strong expertise in HS & ECCN classification methodology, knowledge of GRI, Section and Chapter Notes, EAR, ECCN classification principles, INCOTERMS, and import/export documentation.
