Role Overview:Google Clouds software engineers develop cutting-edge technologies that revolutionize how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and each other. The role requires versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm to tackle new challenges across the full-stack in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:- Write product or system development code for high-performance database internals, specifically focusing on designing and implementing query engines for AlloyDB.- Participate in and lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to make decisions on available technologies, driving architectural direction for large-scale distributed systems and transactional consistency.- Review code developed by other developers, provide feedback to ensure best practices, and contribute to the teams technical discussions, continuously learning and applying best practices.- Take ownership of specific components, triage product or system issues, and debug/track/resolve by analyzing sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations, including performance benchmarking and query execution optimization.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.- 8 years of experience in software development.- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.- Bachelors degree in Computer Science preferred.- Experience with software development in C and C.- Experience with database internals (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), query optimization, and compilers.- Experience leading a team of software engineers to build and deliver managed services.- Experience with RDBMS internals.- Knowledge of RDBMS core functions such as serializability and consistency.(Note: Additional details about the company were not provided in the job description.)
