Job Description

    Metadata Program Manager About the job The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Metadata Program Manager to join us. In this role, you will coordinate with the Data Governance team to incorporate business metadata like business glossary, rules, and policies into the Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) to ensure that the data is consistent and trustworthy. You will configure EDC and Axon tools for optimal operation and integration between the tool sets by creating, implementing, maintaining, and socializing the metadata standards and policies as part of the enterprise catalog implementation. What you will do
    • Assist in the rollout of the Enterprise Data Catalog including building and publishing in data marketplace in support of advanced analytic, scanning all assets across the enterprise, indexing metadata, and providing detailed analysis across databases that aid in demonstrating catalog capabilities to end users
    • Use industry standard practices to advise the Data Governance Policy team on the development of policies, guidelines, tools, metrics, and standards for managing metadata to help organize and manage all data and enrich metadata support and governance processes
    • Work cross-functionally with other teams by driving detailed requirements, designs, testing, training, and organizational change management activities that requires focus on the desired business outcomes of a governance program instead of the data itself
    • Collaborate with Data Governance team to apply industry-standard practices and solutions to develop business glossaries, data access policies, data quality rules, enterprise ontologies, taxonomies, and other fundamental metadata artifacts and capabilities
    • Assist in deploying, monitoring, maintaining, and general support of EDC and Axon in a AWS) environment
    • Manage data domains, profiling information and rules for data assets using Informatica Catalog Administrator in an optimized way
    What you will bring
    • Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, IT, information systems, electronic engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of experience working in the job offered or a related role
    • Must have 5+ years of experience with data warehousing, BI and analytics tools including Oracle, Redshift, Informatica ETL, Tableau, SQL Server, and AWS including S3; and data models, data taxonomy, and data standards and data quality in relation to data governance best practices
    • Must have 1+ year(s) of experience with administering and implementing data catalog tools; and administrative, migration, and product upgrades in Informatica EDC and Axon tools
