Job Description

    Job Purpose:Performing catalyst screening and optimization studies to generate accurate and reliable data that would be used for synthesis and potential scale up by scientists in the Discovery and Development team. Key Responsibilities: Contribute individually (or as a team when appropriate) by performing screening experiments in lab and update laboratory notebook contemporaneously. Understand the objectives of a given experiment/study set and connect it to the study group to plan on the data collection and subsequent interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions. Follow Syngene safety standards in the work environment. Perform Risk assessment for experiments as per the reaction guidelines-risk matrix. Ensure productivity as per Syngene standards or customer requirement. Prepare quality weekly research reports and project summary reports. Perform literature search using tools such as scifinder, Reaxys etc. Participate in technical discussions in audioconferences with customer, if required. Any other lab responsibilities as indicated by the EHSQ team member/ supervisor / group leader Understanding and demonstrating responsibility for safety of self & colleagues by following all safety protocols provided by Syngene Adherence to all environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies & standards at all times in the workplace Wearing all PPE as required. Adherence to all procedures related to Syngene s data integrity policies. Compliance to Syngene s quality standards at all times.Educational Qualification: MSc in general or organic chemistryTechnical/functional Skills: Fundamental synthetic organic chemistry knowledge with a deeper mechanistic understanding. Expertise in organometallic chemistry and experience in cross coupling reactions is desired. Experience in handling pyrophoric, moisture sensitive reagents and performing reactions in glove box. Highly proficient with MS office and chemdraw. Experience: 3 to 6 years of relevant industrial or academic experience Behavioral Skills: Strong analytical skills to derive trend, conclusion, and path forward, out of large set of data. Logical thinking and attention to details. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
