Job Purpose The role will be to extract and interpret data from genomic/proteomic/other bioinformatics databases to meet project requirements relevant to RNA/protein sequence conservation, alternate transcripts, promoter analysis/regulation, expression, structure and pathways/network. Key Responsibilities:
• Hands-on work involving extensive reading and data mining from scientific literature, clinical research, patent for preparation of a comprehensive document based on client need
• Preparation and review of scientific content with appropriate biological contextualization
• Critical analysis & peer-review of content prepared by the team
• Client interactions to understand their requirements and relevant scoping of the project
• Constant interaction with team members and guiding them to improve their skills
• Continuous effort to enhance the content and quality of client projects through mutual learning
• Project management for on time delivery and closure of each project
• Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety
• Ensure environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures are imparted via training and adhered within the team
• This role will not involve wet lab component.
Educational Qualification:
• PhD in Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics
• Experience in preclinical drug discovery will be preferred
Technical/functional Skills:
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in data mining and analysis from literature and databases for solving biological problems for a target protein of interest.
• Comprehensive knowledge on using combination of biology and bioinformatics for problem solving
• In depth understanding and analysis of relevant information on drug target modalities from public/private databases for a target w.r.t. target biology in relevance to safety, efficacy and toxicity
• Independent analytical mindset of extensive biological data and an eye for detail to look at the big picture for hypothesis driven novel insights
• Experience in dealing with visual representation of big data, such as Network analysis and Omics
• Proficiency in using MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook
• Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practice
Experience:
• 0-3 years of post-Ph.D. experience (Corporate experience is preferred)
• Experience in preparation and review of scientific report/document.
• Understanding of drug discovery pipeline
• Experience in databases and bioinformatics preferable
