Job Description

    A Travel Curator in a travel agency, particularly for safari experiences, plays a specialized role in creating, managing, and delivering high-quality, personalized travel experiences. Their responsibilities include:1. Itinerary Design and Planning
    • Crafting bespoke safari itineraries tailored to the clients preferences, interests, budget, and travel style.
    • Identifying key destinations, safari parks, and game reserves that align with the travelers goals (e.g., Big Five sightings, birdwatching, cultural experiences).
    • Incorporating unique activities such as night safaris, walking tours, or hot-air balloon rides.
    2. Vendor and Partner Coordination
    • Collaborating with safari lodges, camps, and tour operators to secure accommodations, guides, and vehicles.
    • Negotiating contracts and rates with service providers to offer competitive pricing.
    3. Client Consultation and Personalization
    • Conducting consultations to understand clients interests, such as wildlife photography, luxury stays, or adventure.
    • Providing advice on visa requirements, travel insurance, vaccinations, and packing lists.
    4. Logistical Arrangements
    • Organizing transportation, including flights, ground transfers, and safari vehicles.
    • Ensuring seamless connections between destinations within the safari itinerary.
    5. Experience Enhancement
    • Recommending unique experiences, such as private game drives, bush dining, or cultural visits to local tribes.
    • Curating memorable moments like surprise celebrations or personalized touches during the trip.
    6. Knowledge and Expertise
    • Staying informed about the latest trends, wildlife migration patterns, and conservation efforts.
    • Offering insights into the best travel seasons for specific wildlife experiences.
    7. Crisis Management and Support
    • Providing real-time support during the trip in case of emergencies or unexpected changes.
    • Coordinating with local teams to address issues like delayed flights, health concerns, or changes in weather.

    • Promoting eco-friendly safari options and working with ethical operators that support wildlife conservation and local communities.
