Job Description

Position: Technical Program Manager, Global Marine MaintenanceLocation: Dubai - United Arab EmiratesMinimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in fiber optic network design, deployment, and operations.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience with the Marine industry, in a marine repair coordination, ship operations management role within a Marine environment.
  • Understanding of marine maintenance and operations of submarine cables, as well as operation and maintenance of cable stations.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking and prioritization abilities with attention to detail.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, youll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. Youll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Youre equally comfortable explaining your teams analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.Responsibilities
  • Support Regional Preventive Maintenance planning for APAC and Indian Ocean region. Cable repair coordination, repair quality and repair lead.
  • Review of new Marine related cable systems handover from build to operate teams, ensuring data quality, pre go-live checks, and maintenance solutions are in place. Proactive identification and repair of potential risks and issues, develop working practices and procedures with internal and external teams.
  • Respond to cable faults and damage, working with repair authorities, ship operators, maintenance authorities, and outside related agencies and organisations.
  • Monitor cable health, security and environmental factors. Efficient repair and restoration of services working closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and field operations teams at cable landing sites, ship to ship communications.
  • Support management and performance management of suppliers, Regional Operational Expenditure (OPEX) planning, forecasting and ongoing financial OPEX management.
