Development Director - 5 Star Hotel Projects

Job Description

As a Development Director at Ascentis, you will be responsible for leading a portfolio of complex hospitality developments for our most valued client. This leadership role requires vision, strategic thinking, and the ability to orchestrate large, multi-disciplinary teams while guiding project development from feasibility to final delivery.**Role Overview:**You will play a central role in shaping each projects development brief, advising on brand alignment, setting budgets and programmes, and providing hands-on leadership to ensure the hotels are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to world-class quality standards. This position will be based in Gurgaon, India, with regular site visits across India.**Key Responsibilities:**- Serve as the primary Ascentis lead for all client hospitality projects, partnering directly with client leadership to define development goals and brand alignment.- Lead internal cross-functional teams and external partners, translating client vision into actionable project and design briefs.- Lead preparation of Project Execution Plans (PEP), advise clients on hotel operator brand standards, and drive value engineering efforts.- Ensure tight control of project timelines and budgets, driving accountability across consultants, contractors, and internal teams.- Lead project delivery from concept design through procurement and construction, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.- Mentor and lead a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and excellence.**Qualifications Required:**- 20 years of international experience in project management, with a proven track record in delivering complex hospitality assets on schedule and within budget.- Strong background in hotel development lifecycle, including experience with operator-led design and technical standards.- Deep understanding of procurement, cost control, construction logistics, and design coordination.- Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
