You will be part of a culture that values inclusion, offers comprehensive benefits, and provides opportunities for career development on a global scale.**Primary Responsibilities:**- Own feature delivery end to end, including breaking down moderately complex requirements, proposing design options, implementing, testing, and shipping to production with minimal supervision- Lead the modernization of legacy modules by migrating ASP.NET Web Forms components to .NET (Core/.NET 6), utilizing seams/strangler patterns, automated tests, and staged rollouts- Enhance code quality and reliability through writing clean, secure, and performant C# and T-SQL, incorporating unit/integration tests, promoting code review standards, and executing targeted refactors to reduce technical debt- Take operational ownership by contributing to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), defining meaningful dashboards/alerts, participating in on-call/incident reviews, and driving post-mortem actions to closure- Contribute to design decisions, shaping component and data-model designs, documenting decisions, and promoting patterns within the squad- Collaborate on front end development by implementing or reviewing JavaScript/TypeScript changes and integrating with React/Angular components while focusing on accessibility and performance- Ensure security and compliance by default through applying secure coding practices, secrets management, least-privilege access, and supporting audit evidence through build/deployment pipelines- Mentor and unblock others by coaching associates on design/testing habits, providing actionable PR feedback, and collaborating cross-functionally with PM/QA/SRE/UX/Data**Required Qualifications:**- Bachelors in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)- 6 years of experience building services or web apps with ASP.NET or .NET (Core or .NET 6), C#, and SQL Server, demonstrating autonomy beyond SG25s 1-3 year profile- Hands-on experience with unit or integration testing (xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest), CI/CD, and basic observability (structured logs, metrics, tracing)- Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML or CSS; exposure to React or Angular- Proven solid OO design, RESTful APIs, Entity Framework or Dapper, and Git (branching, PR reviews)- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills**Preferred Qualifications:**- Demonstrated experience migrating legacy ASPX to .NET 6 with minimal downtime and measurable risk reduction- Experience in performance tuning across app or DB (profilers, async, indexing, query plans)- Experience in applying secure by design practices (OWASP Top 10 mitigations, threat modeling basics)- Experience in mentoring associates and facilitating design or retro sessions- Practical familiarity with containers or cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS)At Optum, you will be part of a mission to help people live healthier lives and improve the health system for everyone.
