Vice President, Securities Lending Data Engineering

Job Description

You will be joining the Securities Lending Data Engineering team within the Innovation, Data and Analytics (IDA) team at BlackRock in Gurgaon. Your role will involve developing and managing a sophisticated data platform, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary squad, designing and building ETL & ELT data pipelines, and staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies. As a Vice President, you will lead the data engineering team, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.**Key Responsibilities:**- Develop and manage a data platform to deliver reliable data to various users- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary squad to expand the product offering- Design, secure, and improve ETL & ELT data pipelines- Gain hands-on experience in building next-generation ETL framework- Stay updated on industry trends and latest developments in data engineering- Lead the data engineering team in Gurgaon, provide technical guidance, and manage junior data engineers- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team**Qualifications Required:**- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other STEM degree- 7 years of related work experience in financial services- Strong skills in SQL and Sybase- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with dev ops tools like Azure DevOps- Experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT framework design, and workflow orchestrations- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills- 2 years of success in people management including mentoring junior software engineers- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills**Desired Qualifications:**- Experience with Snowflake, SnowPipe, Snowpark, and ETL tools like Pentaho Data Integration or DBT- Knowledge of workflow management tools such as Airflow- Familiarity with Aladdin, Linux, Business Objects, and UnixYou will enjoy a wide range of benefits at BlackRock, including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, and Flexible Time Off (FTO).
