Job Description

    Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee the electrical engineering activities for our new FPSO and other Oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in offshore oil and gas projects, particularly in FPSO design, construction, and commissioning. The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading the FPSO electrical engineering team, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.Key Responsibilities: Lead the electrical engineering team for FPSO projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering deliverables. The Lead Electrical Engineer will report to the Department Head and work closely with project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and contractors. Oversee the design, specification, and procurement of electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, motors, switchgear, and control systems. Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, API, NEC) and client specifications. Review and approve electrical engineering documents, including single-line diagrams, load schedules, cable sizing, equipment datasheets, equipment specs and Electrical Layouts. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, instrumentation, and process) to ensure integrated design solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments. Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor documents and conducting technical bid evaluations. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems during the construction phase. Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Resolve technical issues and provide innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 12 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role on FPSO or offshore oil and gas projects. Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, including HV/LV distribution, transformers, generators, and motor control centers. Proficiency in engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, or similar tools. Familiarity with FPSO-specific requirements, such as marine classification societies (e.g., DNV, ABS).
