Role Overview The COO will be part of the REVIVE platform, a multi-stakeholder platform comprising philanthropic foundations, corporates, implementation partners, NBFCs, non-profits to provide impetus to the livelihoods and income generation for underserved, marginalised segments of society and MSMEs affected by the pandemic. Through a series of curated interventions which includes financial assistance, training and capacity building, access to social security, digitisation etc., the initiative seeks to revive livelihoods and build resilience for the long term. REVIVE is incubated by MSDF, Omidyar Network, USAID, FCDO, UNDP and supported by several large corporate partners. Job Description - Bring together external and organisational insights to create an aspirational annual plan for the platform - Translate this into goals for each team and KRAs for each team member - Design, Develop and implement relevant processes for the various internal teams within the platform - Create a process driven culture where everyone has clarity on the processes to be followed and the ability to implement, monitor and learn from them - Conceptualise, develop and implement a comprehensive end-to-end work review process involving individual teams, team leads and Revive leadership - Foster an evidence-based decision- making culture where teams are empowered to make decisions - Keep a strong hold on process integrity and compliance for all financial and governance related processes for the platform - Articulate the impact hypotheses and theory of change for the platform (What does success mean for us as a platform and how will our interventions lead to that success), work towards the creation of impact goals for each project that we undertake and facilitate a deep focus on looking at our work and success through the beneficiary impact lens - Along with beneficiary impact, for each project articulate the learning goals that we would like to pursue from a Platform, funder and client perspective. Nudge all teams to continuously reflect on their work to eke out insights and learnings to further nuance and improve our work - Work with implementation teams to design and implement projects to achieve the beneficiary impact and learning goals. Drive a deeper understanding of each of the cohorts we work with, their needs and challenges and a stronger connect with how our interventions would help - Own the creation and execution of an overall communications plan for REVIVE and for the individual projects with the same. Work with the communications team to ensure that all client deliverables are completed in a timely manner with quality. Also work towards building a stronger brand awareness and appreciation for the REVIVE brand in the external ecosystem of funders, corporate clients, implementation partners etc. - Represent REVIVE on external physical and virtual forums to share our learnings and build an appreciation for the work we are doing - Create an overall team structure for REVIVE, identify the nature and number of team members needed to deliver on the overall goals. Drive the hiring process to get them on board in a timely manner - Motivate and engage the team members, act as their mentor so as to drive higher performance, work satisfaction and retention - Maintain, analyse and present value-added reports that identifies status and progress across all projects, processes, milestones and deliverables; Contribute to Funder/Client reporting, as required - Develop deep and meaningful relationships with stakeholders - Funder/Client, Implementation Partners Qualifications, Skills & Experience - 15-20 years of experience, mix of corporate plus social sector - At least 5-6 years of leadership experience - background in managing and mentoring multifunctional teams, handling conflict, working under pressure, taking data-based decisions, building teams and organisations - A process driven orientation and mindset - previous experience of designing, managing processes would be preferred - Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change. Structured and analytical approach to solving problems - Stellar planning with the ability to prioritize amidst various / sometimes conflicting priorities - Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes - Ability to bridge the gap between the non-profit and for-profit worlds. Exposure to strategy, CSR and private foundations would be a definite advantage. - Passion for the development sector and the communities we serve is a must.
