Role Overview
This role is part of the Finance Technology team in India managing and delivering all key aspects of regulatory reporting (and other Finance Technology) projects as required by external regulators and / or internal stakeholders including delivering new requirements, automation / streamlining, and technical enhancements. The role encompasses project sizing, requirements analysis, project plan creation and milestone delivery, end user testing, cost control, resource allocation, vendor oversight / relationships, and face-offs to key internal and external stakeholders for on-time and on-target delivery.
This role will have oversight for the onshore technology project manager and business analyst, as well as for vendor staff aligned to solution deliveries.
Finance Technology is a part of the regional & global Risk & Finance Technology organization managing technology projects and strategic / tactical solution design & deliveries under the Bank s Global Technology & Operations division.
Key Responsibilities
o Leading a team of internal / vendor project managers & business analysts to work with project stakeholders and understand project concept, objectives and approach and communicating clearly to all stakeholders and partners for a single project or project portfolio o Creating and maintaining project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time requirements, establishing deadlines, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle o Project status reporting to local management, regional / global stakeholders o Expected to participate in regulatory reporting strategy creation o Managing requirements and design at the project level. Requirement Documentation Document SME/User requirement such that both business and technology teams are able to achieve common ground based on contents of requirement document, design and own testing plan & outcomes o Keep managers and the project team informed of relevant regulatory changes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements o Testing Management Support user expectations and help demonstrate success from automation efforts through empirical demonstration of output from system o Design and implement information systems controls in consultation with process / technology owners and user groups that are aligned with the organization s risk appetite and tolerance levels to support business objectives. Monitor and maintain controls to ensure they continue to function effectively and efficiently. o Managing relationships with the vendor and monitoring the vendor s delivery, quality and accuracy of estimates and invoices, and contractual documents / obligations o Managing project financials including accurate sizing, forecasts, tracking actuals to plan, and variance /funding risk o Ensuring compliance with the Bank s policies, standards, and procedures, as well as with country / legal entity specific regulatory requirements o Timely identification and escalation of risks and leading mitigation as applicable o As applicable engaging in / providing support / serving as the point person for regulatory exams, audits, business continuity exercises, and other internal / external assessments and reviews
Key Requirements
o 8-10 years experience as a Project Manager in charge of delivering IT solutions preferably in a banking / financial services environment o Proactive, resilient, results-driven, innovative, and has an ownership / accountability mindset o Strong team management experience across a mix of in-house and vendor staff, ensuring the team is aligned to delivering key vision & objectives o Working knowledge/ experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile Scrum Methodologies o Strong ability to communicate with and influence senior and middle level executives including without a direct reporting relationship o Adept with MS Project, MS Office and Windows based systems o Knowledge of project management & the software development lifecycle o Knowledge of banking products (wholesale and markets) o Comfortable with working in ambiguous environment, self-motivated, and strong people skills.
Desired Skills o Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE 2 o Experience in regulatory reporting for a bank or financial services institution o Familiarity with Agile methodology and execution a plus o Project Management Experience in a banking environment o Domain Knowledge on regulatory reporting in a bank (past Business Analyst / SME experience preferred)
