This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.Key Responsibilities *Machine Setup:* Prepare and configure lathe machines, including selecting the appropriate tools, setting speeds, and calibrating machinery to meet production specifications. *Operation:* Operate lathe machines to produce parts according to blueprints, sketches, or specific instructions. Monitor the machining process to ensure quality and accuracy. *Quality Control:* Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality. *Maintenance:* Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and longevity. *Safety:* Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor. *Documentation:* Maintain accurate records of production, including material usage, machine settings, and finished parts. Complete any required documentation for quality control and inventory purposes. *Collaboration:* Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and achieve production goals.Qualifications *Experience:* Prior experience as a lathe operator or in a similar machining role is preferred. *Technical Skills:* Proficiency in operating manual and/or CNC lathes. Knowledge of various materials and machining techniques. *Attention to Detail:* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. *Problem-Solving:* Strong problem-solving skills to address machining issues and make precise adjustments. *Physical Requirements:* Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. *Safety Awareness:* Knowledge of and commitment to following workplace safety standards and practices.Education High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a vocational or technical training program in machining or a related field is a plus.Working Conditions Work is performed in a manufacturing or workshop environment. May involve exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
