Job Description

    General Qualifications Across RolesEducation: A degree in relevant fields such as Animation, Computer Science, Fine Arts, Film Production, or Graphic Design. Advanced degrees (e.g., MFA, MS) are beneficial.Portfolio/Showreel: A high-quality portfolio or demo reel showcasing original and diverse work. Specific to the role: for animators, character design and movement; for technical roles, coding projects or simulations.Experience: Relevant professional experience in animation, filmmaking, or related fields. Internships or prior work at reputable studios can strengthen your application.Skills RequiredAnimation Proficiency in animation software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or Houdini. Strong understanding of animation principles (e.g., timing, weight, squash and stretch). Ability to convey emotions and storytelling through character movement.Art and Design Exceptional drawing, painting, and/or sculpting skills. Knowledge of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling. Proficiency in tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate.Technical/Engineering Roles Strong programming skills (C, Python, etc.). Familiarity with computer graphics concepts like rendering, shading, and simulation. Experience with RenderMan or other rendering software.Storyboarding Strong storytelling skills and the ability to visualize sequences. Proficiency in software like Toon Boom Storyboard Pro or Adobe Animate. Ability to iterate quickly based on feedback.Visual Effects (VFX) Expertise in creating simulations (water, fire, hair, etc.). Proficiency with Houdini, Nuke, and other compositing tools.Production Roles Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage schedules, resources, and budgets. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Voice Acting Strong acting and vocal versatility. Ability to convey emotion through voice alone.Soft SkillsCollaboration: Ability to work well in teams, including artists, engineers, and directors. Openness to feedback and iterative work.Creativity: A strong sense of imagination and innovation. Willingness to explore and push creative boundaries.Communication: Clear communication of ideas, both visually and verbally.
