Job descriptionJob Title: SCADA/Instrumentation EngineerJob Type: Full TimeExperience; 2-4 yearsLocation: GPO Square, BG 1 & 2, Swami Sadan Apartments, behind YES Bank, Civil Lines, Nagpur, Maharashtra 440001We are currently seeking a proficient SCADA/Instrumentation Engineer specializing in the operation and maintenance of irrigation water management systems such as SCADA software. The SCADA/Instrumentation Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning, monitoring, and optimization of irrigation infrastructure through the implementation and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and instrumentation. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in SCADA systems, instrumentation, and irrigation operations to effectively manage water resources and enhance agricultural productivity.Responsibilities: SCADA System Implementation and Management: Design, configure, and deploy SCADA systems tailored for irrigation operations, encompassing pumps, valves, flow meters, sensors, and related equipment. Develop intuitive Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens, alarms, and control logic to facilitate real-time monitoring, control, and management of irrigation processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SCADA systems with existing irrigation infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange. Instrumentation Deployment and Maintenance: Identify, specify, and install instrumentation devices essential for monitoring water flow, pressure water levels etc and other relevant parameters critical for irrigation management. Implement instrumentation networks, including wiring, communication protocols, and data acquisition systems, to facilitate accurate and reliable data collection. Conduct routine calibration, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment to uphold operational accuracy and reliability standards. Irrigation Operations Support: Provide technical expertise and support to irrigation operations teams in utilizing SCADA systems and instrumentation for efficient water resource management. Analyze irrigation data collected from SCADA systems and instrumentation to optimize irrigation schedules, minimize water usage, and maximize crop yields. Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA-related issues, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors as necessary to ensure uninterrupted irrigation operations. Print data from SCADA and deliver to OMS for water changes collection. Preventive Maintenance and Performance Optimization: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for SCADA systems and instrumentation, proactively identifying and addressing potential equipment failures or performance degradation. Conduct periodic system performance assessments, analyzing data trends and system diagnostics to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements. Recommend and implement enhancements to SCADA systems and instrumentation to enhance reliability, functionality, and operational efficiency. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of SCADA system configurations, instrumentation specifications, maintenance activities, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices governing SCADA systems, instrumentation, and irrigation operations. Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews, providing documentation and technical support as needed to demonstrate compliance.Qualifications: Bachelors degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineers or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Proven experience in SCADA system design, implementation, and maintenance, with a focus on irrigation or water management applications. Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, sensors, communication protocols, and data acquisition systems relevant to irrigation operations. Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, SCADApack) and programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, SQL). Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail. Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
