Alarm Monitoring Engineer- RAN&Core

Job Description

As a skilled Telecom Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer joining our dynamic team, you will play a critical role in ensuring high service availability and excellent customer experience through proactive network management and rapid incident resolution. You will be responsible for alarm monitoring, alarm analysis, operation and maintenance, and troubleshooting across multiple telecom nodes including RAN, Core CS, Core PS, IP, and IMS.**Key Responsibilities:**- Monitor alarms and analyze network events across RAN, Core CS, Core PS, IP, and IMS nodes.- Perform operation and maintenance activities such as node health checks, backups, configuration changes, and fault management.- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on Ericsson baseband equipment and other telecom network elements.- Manage and resolve network incidents, ensuring timely restoration of services and maintaining a low Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).- Utilize alarm monitoring tools like CITRIX, Putty, EMS, and Netcool for effective network surveillance.- Collaborate closely with field teams for handling hardware failures, node unreachable issues, and other field-related activities.- Follow ITSM ticketing procedures, actively supervising ticket queues, and documenting incident details, actions taken, and resolutions.- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors for issue escalation and resolution.- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including system updates and preventive checks.- Adhere to and contribute to the improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).- Proactively detect potential failures and engage Incident Managers or automated systems to prevent or minimize service impact.**Skills Required:**- Strong telecom knowledge across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G service flows and interfaces.- Hands-on experience with Ericsson baseband hardware and configuration.- Proven expertise in NOC operations, alarm handling, change management, fault diagnosis, and configuration management.- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as CITRIX, Putty, EMS, and Netcool.- Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.- Good knowledge of IP networking protocols: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, LDP, L2VPN, L3VPN, BFD, and Segment Routing.- Understanding of switching technologies and protocols: VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VRRP, HSRP.- Experience with ITSM frameworks, incident management, and working within SLA environments.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking abilities.- Excellent communication and documentation skills.- Ability and willingness to work in shifts, including nights, US shifts, and weekends. **Qualification Required:**- Min Qualification: B.Tech- Experience: 2 to 8 years As a skilled Telecom Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer joining our dynamic team, you will play a critical role in ensuring high service availability and excellent customer experience through proactive network management and rapid incident resolution.
