Role Overview:As a Network Development Engineer (NDE) in the FastConnect Network Engineering Team, you will focus on the architecture and support of cutting-edge datacenter network fabrics and systems. Your role will involve leveraging a deep understanding of networking at the protocol level, along with coding skills to support the intensive automation required for operating a production environment. You will be expected to drive massive-scale cloud architectures from concept to reality, collaborate in cross-organizational initiatives, and solve complex problems in cloud and AI networking. At OCI, values such as equity, inclusion, respect, continuous learning, and career growth are fundamental to how we operate.Key Responsibilities:- Work with customers (internal/external) to drive end-to-end development and support of edge networking fabric and services at global cloud scale, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence- Participate in defining technical direction for network features and automation opportunities- Define and promote engineering and operational best practices, collaborating across the organization to maintain high network quality standards- Communicate technical standards with scalability in mind, decompose designs into actionable tasks, and collaborate with network software teams for design rollouts- Participate in operational rotations, provide break-fix support, serve as an escalation point for remediation, and contribute to post-event root cause analysis- Mentor and develop the next generation of network engineers, offering technical leadership, guidance, and support organization-wide- Act as a liaison between network engineering and network tooling organizations, translating future network needs into software tooling requirementsQualifications:- Bachelors degree in CS or related engineering field with 5 years of Network Engineering experience, or masters with 3 years of Network Engineering experience- Experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment, with overlay Networking experience being a plus- Experience in a network operations role- Strong knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, VxLAN, EVPN; scripting or automation experience, data center design proficiency (Python preferred)- Familiarity with networking protocols including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, SSL, network monitoring, telemetry solutions, network modeling, and programming (YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF)- Ability to resolve complex issues creatively, work under limited supervision, possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, exercise good judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, and participate in an on-call rotationAdditional Company Details:Oracle, a world leader in cloud solutions, partners with industry leaders across sectors and emphasizes inclusivity and empowerment for all its employees.
