Senior Engineer - Geotechnical

Job Description

As a specialist/expert within the UK&I based Geotech Team at WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of geotechnical projects across the UK and world, challenging yourself in fascinating and far-reaching ways. Your role will involve the following responsibilities:- Development of professionally and technically competent reports using efficient working practices to provide industry-leading services to clients.- Support in all aspects of project delivery including financial analysis, client liaison, quality control, and management of specialists and sub consultants.- Manage and deliver project work with robust financial management, including budget responsibility.- Assist in managing team resources and allocation of project resources.- Mentor and develop supporting professional staff.- Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams on geotechnical projects, providing professional advice and building relationships.- Undertake continuing professional development and represent the geotechnical team at technical conferences.- Support the pursuit of new business opportunities, assisting in business development activities.- Maintain high technical standards and quality within allotted budget.Key Competencies:- Sound understanding of geotechnical engineering and project management experience.- Experience in geotechnical desk studies, ground investigations, and design reports.- Proficiency in geotechnical software for civil engineering projects.- Consultancy experience with commercial awareness and client requirement understanding.- Excellent report-writing and client liaison skills.Qualifications:- Demonstrated experience in geotechnical engineering and project management.- Familiarity with Eurocode 7, UK annex design codes, and construction contracts.- Ability to support client-facing meetings and contribute to technical excellence.- Strong communication skills and ability to handle client interactions effectively.About Us:WSP is a leading professional services consulting firm dedicated to providing innovative solutions in various sectors.
