Job Description

Study diseases and conditions of the body
Diagnose a wide range of diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases and diabetes
Take samples of body tissue and fluids and test them to identify infectious agents that cause disease for example, bacteria, viruses (such as HIV) and parasites
Write detailed reports on the findings of testsProvide advice to other medical practitioners
Investigate deaths and complete autopsies
Look after a blood bank in a laboratory and facilitate blood collection programmes
Teach medical students and trainee pathologists
Carry out research.
Incumbent will be responsible for test authorizations
Assuring the results that are reported are accurate
To ensure good clinical practices/ to handle quality assurance and quality control effectively
To provide training to team on good laboratory practices
To manage manpower at laboratory with excellent leadership and management skills
Suggest possible investigations to aid or confirm diagnosis.
Keeping updated of new developments in laboratory science.
Establishing a laboratory of international standard and recognized by the Department of health
.Setting up of efficient process and procedure for the laboratoryManagement and Administration of laboratory.
Planning and upgrading systems such as implementing Laboratory information system.

Minimum Qualification:

MD Pathology, with 1 year experience post MD

Desired Candidate Profile:

Should have good communication skills (both written & verbal)
Should be able to manage a team
