With Rippling, you can just click a button and set up a new employees payroll, health insurance, work computer, and third-party appslike Slack, Zoom, and Office 365all within 90 seconds.Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $700M from the worlds top investorsincluding Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, and Bedrockand was named one of Americas best startup employers by Forbes (#12 out of 500).About the RoleAs the engineering manager for the Benefits Compliance team within Benefits Native Products, you will oversee the development of essential features that allow Ripplings largest customers to efficiently create, enroll in, and manage our Compliance suite of products including Cobra and ACA.Every year, over $5 trillion is spent globally by employers and employees on benefits, ranging from health insurance to retirement savings to Flex plans like HSA, FSA, and LSA. These products play a crucial role in guiding families through some of lifes most significant decisions.There are challenges for the team that range from building for usability to scaling for massive growth and a wide array of engineering requirements. Youll be working on defining, driving, and delivering the teams technical roadmap, hiring talented engineers who can continue building our scalable systems and determining the underlying infrastructure at Rippling for the next 5 years and beyond.What you will do

  • Build and drive day-to-day processes that lead to a highly efficient team of high performing engineers.
  • Build a multi-quarter roadmap that drives operational excellence, performance, and reliability.
  • Build and leverage partnerships across the company to land lasting impact.
  • Coach and grow the individuals on your team through mentorship and performance management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 7 years of experience in software development and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of software architectures.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager in leading small and mid-sized development teams.
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, or experience in a relevant field.
  • Solid programming skills, a track record, and passion for improving the code structure and architecture to enhance testability and maintainability.
  • Great project management skills to lead, care about product ownership, an outstanding customer-centric mindset, and solving problems for our customers.
  • Team development skills: ability to set a roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, offer engineering advice, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, work with team members to grow in their careers, and ensure everyone delivers quality results.
