Summary Of The JobWe are looking for a level 3 Application Support analyst with excellent AWS/Cloud services support experience to join our retail cloud development and integration services support team within PMC.PMC retail cloud development and integration services enable retailers, hospitality, and service organisations to create engaging and seamless customer experiences.Using the combination of our cloud platform, endpoint integration application and development capabilities, we enable retailers to break down traditional barriers to innovation.With PMC Retail Cloud Solutions, we connect digital touchpoints with in-store experiences to deliver more personal, insight-driven customer journeys.You will work closely with our existing development teams to fully establish and drive forward Cloud Ops SaaS and 3rd level application support and best practices in the company.You will have gained this from your experience in a similar role with an emphasis on a high pressure. 24x7x365 ops monitoring and support environment.You will help with establishing and reviewing configuration management, automating our infrastructure, implementing continuous integration, and complimenting the team in DevOps best practices to help achieve a continuously deployable system. You will be part of a 24x7 shift based team monitoring and resolving incidents both on our SaaS platform and deployed applications at customer sites.You will be part of a team set up for success, responding to customer generated issues raised to the Cloud Ops support team via the Service Desk, and will be working collaboratively to find resolutions for the customer.As the CIEP Support Analyst, you will help create practices and procedures to support the build of functional systems that improve customer experience and support their transition to the live environment. You will assist in identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customer needs and help put in place the processes to build scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure.Youll be involved in implementing and improving monitoring for automated system health checks using tools such as Datadog and Splunk, as well as be helping to implement observability into the company to ensure real time resolution and pre-emptive identification of issues.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the L3 Team Lead, you will be expected to: Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure timely response to issues. Identify and address root causes of production errors, investigate technical issues, and implement solutions. Maintain highly available production systems, contributing to system stability. Collaborate with software engineering department to define infrastructure and deployment requirements, design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS. Troubleshoot problems across various services and functional areas, maintaining Infrastructure and Application integrity. Build secure environments and migrate legacy systems to the cloud, adhering to security standards. Proficiency in configuring and managing Apache Kafka clusters, enabling seamless real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures. Experience with Kafka topics, partitions, brokers, Connectors and consumer groups for data processing. Apply database administration best practices, potentially including NoSQL databases like Couchbase. Provision, configure, and diligently maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code methodologies. Build the automation scripts to be used for updates and fixes Construct and uphold production systems that exhibit high levels of availability. Support the design of cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS Strong grasp of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools. Familiarity with serverless computing and related frameworks (e.g., AWS Lambda, CodeCommitt, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild, API Gateway). Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems Conduct analysis of infrastructure costs and implement optimization measures. Ensure strict configuration management and compliance with industry standards. Implementing best practices from database administration to uphold system performance.Skills and Experience | Essential Prior experience as a Cloud Ops or DevOps Engineer is essential, along with cloud-based application support experience. Experience with Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch and/or other observability and monitoring toolsets Proficiency with version control systems like Git for managing code repositories and collaboration. Knowledge of security practices and tools, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and vulnerability assessment. Understanding of disaster recovery strategies, data backup solutions, and high availability configurations Knowledge of implementing governance practices in the cloud, including resource tagging, access controls, and compliance checks. Exposure to multiple cloud providers beyond AWS, such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform will be an added advantage Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI for automating software delivery pipelines. Experience in database migrations and version upgrades with minimal downtime. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and tool development. Familiarity with firewall configurations, VPNs, and network security principles within cloud environments. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Familiarity with serverless computing and related frameworks (e.g., AWS Lambda, CodeCommitt, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, API Gateway).
