Job Description

As an Associate Senior Data Scientist at the World Bank Group, you will play a crucial role in leading the extraction of meaningful insights from data assets to support informed organizational decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:- Routinely leading complex projects and integrating the work of other professional staff across various disciplines.- Identifying and evaluating systemic issues and analyzing complex problems.- Collaborating with internal stakeholders on strategic matters and potentially interacting with external stakeholders to support department objectives.- Providing guidance, coaching, and training to junior staff within your area of expertise.- Demonstrating comprehensive expertise in a specialized field.Key Responsibilities:1. **Analytics Integration**- Managing analytical and advisory services or operational work related to data science.- Leading the development of a data governance framework with clear guidelines for data classification, ownership, and stewardship.- Leveraging statistical concepts and probabilities to guide stakeholders in identifying operational issues and solutions.2. **Solutions Design and Implementation**- Designing and implementing data, research, and evidence-based solutions aligned with the bank-wide strategic vision.- Collaborating to develop data solutions, market knowledge, and continuous process improvements.- Managing the development of data models, overseeing data processing and cleaning, and ensuring effective quality assurance and data visualization.- Leading the development of machine learning and AI tools to enhance decision-making support.3. **Communication and Narrative**- Translating technical analyses into recommendations for programs, policies, and strategies.- Managing the adoption of new concepts and ideas to optimize data solutions.4. **Design of Dashboards, Reports, Data Portals**- Experience with data design, visualization, and data storytelling using design thinking approaches.- Designing mobile apps for real-time insights for decision-making.- Knowledge of corporate data domains, including budget and human resources.**Education and Experience:**- Masters degree and 8 years of experience, or Bachelors with 10 years, or equivalent combination.- Proven experience in managing global digital engagement platforms and solutions.**Core Competencies:**- Advanced Analytics and Modeling Expertise- Data Design, Visualization, and Knowledge- Data Governance and Scientific Rigor- Strategic Business Translation Skills- End-to-End Data Science Solutions- Technical Innovation and Thought Leadership**Recommended Certifications:**- Data Science Council of America (DASCA) Principal Data Scientist- Databricks certified Machine Learning Professional- SAFe DevOps or SAFe ArchitectThe World Bank Group is committed to offering comprehensive benefits to its employees and fostering an inclusive work environment.
