Job Description

    Role Overview:As a Software Engineering Manager at ePropelled, you will be responsible for building, leading, and supporting the server-side and web software engineering capability. Your primary focus will be on people leadership, recruiting strong engineers, coaching and developing them, and creating an environment where high-quality work can be done sustainably. You will play a crucial role in growing team capability and capacity over time while also helping the team execute effectively by supporting prioritization, clarifying requirements, managing dependencies, and keeping stakeholders aligned.Key Responsibilities:- Lead the team day-to-day through regular 1:1s, coaching, feedback, and career development.- Own line management activities including goal setting, performance reviews, and recognition.- Play a leading role in recruitment and team growth by helping define hiring needs, screening and interviewing candidates, and making hiring recommendations.- Build and strengthen the team over time by identifying capability gaps and supporting growth planning.- Ensure new hires are onboarded effectively with clear ramp-up plans and expectations.- Build a healthy team culture focused on psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.- Help shape clear priorities and sequencing in partnership with stakeholders and facilitate planning activities.- Surface risks, dependencies, and constraints early to drive timely decision-making.- Work closely with other engineering teams to align interfaces, priorities, and delivery timelines.- Coordinate with adjacent functions such as systems, test/QA, operations, and security as needed.- Stay close enough to the technical work to ask good questions, review approaches, and support sound design decisions.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.- Proven experience in software engineering leadership roles.- Strong technical background with experience in server-side and web software development.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Experience with CI/CD delivery models and security controls.- Knowledge of telemetry and observability practices.- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry is a plus.(Note: Additional details about the company were not included in the provided job description.)
