Associate Software Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview:As an Associate Software Engineer at the World Bank Group, you will be responsible for executing the design, development, testing, and maintenance of internal IT applications across various technologies. You will evaluate user needs and design organization-specific applications and systems to enhance internal operations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, you will deliver value through continuous improvement and innovation.Key Responsibilities:- Develop the portfolio performance and attribution reporting- Have an excellent understanding of Asset management business domain- Develop the investment portfolio performance and attribution calculations- Monitor end of day reporting processes and troubleshoot the issues- Coordinate with other ITS teams to fix identified issues in a timely manner- Develop high-quality software solutions to meet business requirements and enhance system performance- Monitor system performance and scalability, troubleshooting issues as they arise- Adhere to security and compliance standards throughout the software development lifecycle- Participate in the integration of software components and support deployment in production environments- Incorporate new financial products into performance calculations- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve existing systems and processes- Follow best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation- Support agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze product requirements, ensuring alignment with project goalsQualification Required:- Masters degree with 5 years of experience or a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial domain, or equivalent combination of education and experience- Knowledge of Capital market products (Fixed income and derivatives)- Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Pipeline- Programming / Coding (Python/Dremio/Power BI)- GitHub Copilots- Cloud Computing- System Design- DevOps- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)- Front-End Development- Data Modeling- Web Applications Development- Innovation- Communicating Effectively- Analytical Reasoning- Influencing Others- Critical ThinkingAdditional Company Details:The World Bank Group is a unique global partnership of five institutions dedicated to ending extreme poverty, increasing shared prosperity, and promoting sustainable development.
