Job DescriptionAs an Applications Development Associate at UPS, you will perform tasks within planned durations to meet established deadlines by providing coding, testing, and analysis for basic applications. You will collaborate with teams to ensure effective communications and support the achievement of objectives, contributing to the identification and reporting of defects in work products. In addition, you will assist with documentation and perform activities of lower complexity under close supervision.Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using Java Spring Boot following modern cloud-native architecture.- Work with SQL Server for schema design, indexing, query tuning, and stored procedures.- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate services into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.- Implement unit, integration, and automated tests for stable, high-quality releases.- Should be flexible in working hours, extend till US EST Noon hours.Required Skills- Strong expertise in Java 8, Spring Boot.- Hands-on experience with SQL Server (schema design, query optimization, indexed views, stored procedures).- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API gateways, and distributed systems.- Knowledge of CI/CD using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.Cloud & Modern Technology Skills (Updated)- Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).Nice-to-Have- Exposure to DevOps concepts and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and enterprise SDLC processes.- Understanding of AEM integrations (if interacting with front-end or content systems).Qualifications- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.- 2 to 4 years of backend development experience, with 1 years in Spring Boot.- Proven experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications.- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.Employee TypePermanentNote: UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
