Job DescriptionAs a member of the Comcast team, your role will involve being the escalation point of contact for all high-level break/fix and maintenance issues or events for the Operations Center (OC). You will provide subject matter expertise for CRAN, CMTS, transport, Video, CDV, and HSI, working closely with engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include a variety of highly complex analytical duties in planning, development, testing, and evaluation of Comcasts network. You will respond to escalations and resolve issues arising from hardware and software failures, manage network tuning and performance, and design strategies to improve network performance.Core Responsibilities- Perform analytical duties related to planning, development, testing, and evaluation of Comcasts network, focusing on CRAN, CMTS, and the IP and Video platforms. Collaborate with engineering and national teams to ensure efficient network operations.- Measure network traffic volume and performance, identify utilization and performance issues, and design strategies to enhance network performance. Provide necessary support for network additions and changes.- Devise and implement strategies to solve network issues or enhance performance, including developing network system documentation and procedural manuals for problem resolution and network improvements. Support OC tools, analyze system needs, and prioritize network devices.- Ensure networking services availability by studying, evaluating, analyzing, and monitoring the network for problem areas. Monitor and isolate outages and impairments, maintain server databases, and develop strategies to enhance network performance.- Provide subject matter expertise for network equipment, offer technical training, and support operational groups. Update code and software for optimal system performance.- Engineer 2 duties involve determining network shutdown necessity for resolving complex issues, providing technical support for capacity and utilization reporting, testing, monitoring, and analyzing the network for outages across all product lines.
