Job Description

    As a Systems Engineer at KLA, your primary role will be to work within the engineering team on designing new or improving designs of existing electron-beam imaging products for the semiconductor equipment market. You will be responsible for various product subsystems including light optics, electron optics, imaging, detectors, HV electronics, vacuum systems, wafer transfer systems, detection and classification algorithms, machine control, and UI software. Your tasks will involve gaining a detailed functional understanding of the entire product, acting independently, devising and driving innovative analyses and solutions for complex problems. Additionally, you will be participating in the development of new designs, specifying SW / Algo / HW requirements, followed by characterization, product integration, and maintenance. Another important aspect of your role will be to provide on-site customer support that may require travel to customer sites in Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, etc. The overall travel load is expected to be between 30% and 50%.Key Responsibilities:- Design new or improve existing electron-beam imaging products for the semiconductor equipment market- Gain a detailed understanding of product subsystems and drive innovative solutions for complex problems- Participate in the development of new designs and product integration- Provide on-site customer support, including potential travel to customer sites- Specifying SW / Algo / HW requirements for new designs- Characterization of products and maintenanceQualifications Required:- Doctorate/Masters degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials and Metallurgical Engineering- Knowledge in instrumentation, signal processing, and optical/electro-optical systems preferred- Experience with Vacuum Systems, Electron Optics, and High Voltage for scanning electron microscopes or equivalent a plus- Hands-on experience in machine control and/or scientific data analysis highly desired- Proficiency in scripting language (MATLAB, Python, others) for scientific data collection & analysis- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to create effective technical presentationsThe company, KLA, is a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
