Frontend Architect (Senior Software Engineer)

As a seasoned Frontend Architect (Senior Software Engineer), your role will involve leading architectural decisions, mentoring teams, and driving the development of modern web applications within the Informatics & Connected Worksite - CAT IT Team. Your work will contribute to building stronger, more sustainable communities and creating innovative solutions for millions of people.Key Responsibilities:- Lead cross-functional discussions to align on product and technology strategy.- Define and uphold high standards for software quality, performance, and maintainability.- Architect and implement scalable frontend solutions using modern frameworks and tools like React, Angular, or App Router.- Develop proof-of-concepts and evaluate emerging technologies to guide technical direction.- Collaborate with product design and backend teams to deliver cohesive digital experiences.- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.- Drive continuous improvement in development practices, tooling, and automation.- Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.- Contribute to hiring and onboarding of senior engineering talent.- Foster a culture of innovation, craftsmanship, and knowledge sharing.Qualifications Required:- 9 years of experience in frontend application development with a strong track record of delivering scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.- Expertise in React, Angular, or App Router.- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, ES6, and Web Components.- Deep understanding of frontend architecture design patterns and interaction design principles.- Experience with SSR/CSR rendering strategies and modern frontend tooling.- Familiarity with TDD/BDD practices, web security best practices, and OWASP guidelines.- Knowledge of responsive design, CSS preprocessors, E2E testing tools, AWS services, Docker, Redux, NgRx, Redux Toolkit, and performance optimization techniques.Additional Details:Caterpillar offers a supportive work environment that values sustainability, innovation, and community impact.
