Job Description

    As a Junior HR Generalist at Canonical, you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating general HR activities in the APAC region and driving HR processes. This role offers a great opportunity to kickstart and advance your career in a People function supporting team members globally.**Role Overview:**- Provide HR support by addressing team members queries and handling requests related to their employment and contracts, escalating when necessary.- Maintain the HRIS with accuracy and timeliness in processing team member changes and new joiners.- Partner with managers and employees to support HR processes and drive the people strategy for your areas of responsibility.- Process new hires, manage on-boarding documentation, facilitate benefits enrollment, and ensure payroll accuracy.- Conduct regular audits of employment files and systems to ensure GDPR compliance.- Manage global background checks.**Key Responsibilities:**- Answer team members questions and respond to requests regarding employment and contracts- Maintain HRIS with accuracy and timeliness- Partner with managers and employees to support HR processes- Process new hires and manage on-boarding documentation- Conduct audits of employment files and systems- Manage global background checks**Qualifications Required:**- Exceptional academic track record from high school and university- Experience in an entry-level HR/People role, preferably in the Technology industry- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Ability to prioritize workloads, manage time effectively, and work well under pressure- Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a focus on accuracy- High level of integrity, ability to handle confidential data, and flexibility to adapt to change- Ambitious to grow career within HR- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events**About Canonical:**Canonical is a pioneering tech firm leading the global open-source movement.
