Role Overview:Join Hapag-Lloyd on a transformative journey to migrate their document and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platform from mainframe-based applications to a cloud-based platform on AWS. As a Principal Technical Architect, you will be instrumental in driving this transformation by designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. Your role will involve collaborating with software development teams to optimize cloud infrastructure and align application development processes with cloud best practices.Key Responsibilities:- Set infrastructure standards among platform teams- Shape the roadmap for the AWS infrastructure team- Work closely with cross-functional product teams to design and implement solutions using AWS resources- Evaluate and implement security and compliance strategies to ensure industry standards are met efficiently- Continually optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, security, and performance- Lead migration projects from assessment to optimization- Create cloud migration and infrastructure management processes for smooth transitions and automation- Lead team management and provide leadership in technical advancementsQualifications Required:Technical:- Proven experience with a wide range of AWS services such as Docker, ECS, Fargate, EC2, EKS, etc.- Design and implement performing systems capable of handling high loads and scalability- Experience with CI/CD tools like Maven, NPM, GitLab CI, AWS CodeBuild, and automation tools- Strong security awareness and experience in threat modeling- Proficiency in managing cloud-based relational databases, NoSQL databases, and scalable storage solutions- Java programming skills on an enterprise level and experience with Spring Boot- Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka and queuing systems- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, Datadog, and Open TelemetryPersonal:- Passionate about delivering value and driving technical solutions- Effective communication skills in English- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role and tech stack or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification- Strong project references showcasing key roles played- Preference for automating recurring tasks and working independently- Desire to drive solutions and lead technical advancements(Note: Additional details about the company were not provided in the job description.)
